Shawn surprised new TODAY show co-anchor Savannah Guthrie on her first show as host. Guthrie, who counts Colvin as her musical idol, joined Shawn for a performance of Bob Dylan's "You're Gonna Make Me Lonesome When You Go" before Shawn offered a solo take on the title track off her new album, All Fall Down. Shawn is the subject of a feature profile on PBS NewsHour. She spoke with the show's Art Beat correspondent Jeffrey Brown, sharing some stories from her new memoir, Diamond in the Rough, and offers solo acoustic performances of two songs off her new album, All Fall Down, released earlier this month on Nonesuch Records: the title track, which she co-wrote with John Leventhal, and "Change Is on the Way," which she co-wrote with Patty Griffin. Posted byJune 25, 2012Shawn kicked off her summer tour of the United States at the Somerville Theatre outside of Boston last week. The concert found her in "sterling voice," reports the Boston Globe, with a strong connection between her and her fans on full display.
The concert, featuring songs from Shawn's new album, All Fall Down, which Boston Globe music writer Sarah Rodman describes as "superb," "drew rapturous ovations," Rodman reports.
