Promoter Dan Smalls announced in his introduction, "seeing any one of these artists on this stage would be memorable, but seeing all of these artists together is unforgettable."

Miller missed Sunday night's performance in Portsmouth, N.H., of the "Three Girls and Their Buddy" tour in order to appear onstage with Album of the Year-winning duo Alison Krauss and Robert Plant at the Grammy Awards. He boarded a plane in Los Angeles at 6 a.m. to make the show, and Colvin, Griffin and Harris spent much of the night joking about celebrities like the Jonas Brothers and imploring Miller to share backstage stories and talk fashion.

Harris opened the show with the Bob Dylan song "Every Grain of Sand," and in the first round only Miller offered an original - the foot-stomping "Shelter Me." Griffin performed a Bessie Smith song, and Colvin offered her well-known rendition of The Band's "Twilight."

Miller performed on almost every song, primarily on electric guitar, while the others frequently accompanied each other on vocals and occasionally contributed a smattering of percussion and rhythm guitar. Performing without a set list, joking and bantering between songs in a spirit that underscored both emotional and artistic bonds, the four performers invoked their long-established history of musical associations. Their bond stems from having been in each other's bands, produced and played on each other's albums, covered each other's material, and performed at each other's shows many times over the years.

"CollinsPublishers has announced a deal to publish a memoir by Grammy award-winning singer/songwriter Shawn Colvin.

A FEW SMALL REPAIRS, tentatively scheduled for fall '09 and also the name of her breakthrough album, will finally allow all of the fans that have followed her career over the past 19 years to further connect with her on a personal level that only a book could allow. In concert Shawn is known for engaging the audience and interweaving dialog ranging from the very personal to the truly hilarious, so the book will be a natural extension for her. Her beautifully crafted songs draw heavily from her own life whether they are fictional, such as "Sunny Came Home," her top ten Billboard hit and Grammy winning Song of the Year, or more direct such as fan favorite, "Trouble.""
